Once you’ve made your selections, we’ll take it from there.
Everything starts with site protection. While each project is unique, in all cases we’ll cover walkways to and from the work area, take steps to minimize any dust generated during demolition and installation, and clean up when we’re done. If you have specific needs, or your job site dictates more specific measures to conform to HOA or Condominium requirements, just let us know. We’ll find a way to accommodate your needs. Once we’ve protected your home, it’s time to get started. Here’s how a typical shower remodel project happens:
Step 1 – Tearout. We start by removing the existing shower enclosure or tub, whether it’s tile, stone, fiberglass or acrylic. The debris is removed from your home and will be hauled away along with all other debris generated during your project. Our goal is to leave your home as clean as we found it.
Step 2 – Plumbing. At this point we would relocate drains, replace shower valves, and install any rough-in components of plumbing upgrades you’ve selected.
Step 3 – Waterproofing. Next we install moisture and mold-resistant fiber-glass reinforced underlayment panels that have up to 95% recycled content. Once those are in place, we install the Schluter Kerdi Waterproofing System which comes with a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty.
Step 4 – Tile installation. This portion of the process may take several days depending on the size and complexity of your project. There may be spans of time where materials need to dry before we can proceed further. Your installer will communicate with you when they reach such times, and let you know how long it will take before they can resume work. Typically these delays are only overnight, and work resumes the following morning.
Step 5 – Grout Installation. Once the tile is installed and dry, grout will be installed. We ask you to stay off the grout lines overnight to allow them to dry.
Step 6 – Trim Installation and Cleanup
Step 7 – Shower Glass Template
Step 8 – Shower Glass Install
Step 9 – Enjoy!
